The foundation was brought into legal existence by the Cameroon Government via Reg. No.080/G.37/D.14/1 vol.7 /103/0APP/67 on 30th June, 2003. Our mission is: “Helping the underprivileged people to gain access to healthcare services in the rural communities of Cameroon”. Many rural communities have multiple needs, most of which are health-related (such as educational, water, sanitation, nutritional or healthcare needs). Hence, we are committed to addressing these needs through our multiple-program approach. We undertake some of the following programs/projects: 1. Build the capacity of selected community people to render basic health care services in their community. 2. Prevent infectious diseases in the communities through health education. 3. Supply safe drinking water and improved sanitation in needy communities. 4. Build the capacity of farming groups and families to produce and consume nutritious food. 5. Provide sanitary, educational and nutritional facilities in neglected or underprivileged rural schools. 6. Provide quality healthcare services at HIF-CAM’s Hope Community Clinic. HIF-CAM is currently in need of volunteers specialized in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Nursing and General Preventive Medicine who will assist us to accomplish programs 1, 2 6 above.
